The challenge

Commissioned by Vistry Group (on behalf of Countryside Partnerships) for the regeneration of Cambridge Road Estate in Kingston, Bellsure delivered secure mesh compounds to contain the cycle racks, to the SBD representatives’ requirements.

Project background

The regeneration of the Cambridge Road Estate in Kingston was driven by a commitment to deliver high‑quality, sustainable homes, increase affordable housing, enhance green open spaces and support active travel. Alongside the building works, the scheme redesigned the estate layout to improve the public realm, walkways and green spaces, reinforce security and promote walking and cycling as part of a broader ambition to reshape the neighbourhood into a brighter, safer and more connected community. Our involvement, supplying secure mesh compounds and robust cycle racks, formed a key part of this phase‑specific rollout, helping to support new homes with quality end‑of‑trip and cycle storage infrastructure.

SOLUTION

The Bellsure solution

Bellsure delivered 380nr Cycle Spaces, through a mix of;

  • Two-Tier Racks
  • Semi-Vertical Racks
  • Vertical Racks
  • Sheffield Stands

In addition, we installed over 85 linear metres of Bellsure’s CuvaMesh 358 Security Mesh system.

The result

This project has enhanced the public realm, safe walking and cycling routes, and community facilities as part of the transformation from a deprived post‑war estate into a brighter, better-connected neighbourhood.

By supplying secure mesh enclosures and heavy‑duty cycle racks, we have directly supported this transformation. And this well‑designed cycle storage infrastructure has helped embed active travel into the scheme’s fabric, increased overall security of the estate’s communal spaces and added tangible value to the end‑user experience for incoming residents.

The net effect is a safer, more accessible environment that reinforces the developer’s and the borough’s commitment to sustainability, healthy living, and provision of high-quality amenities.
